    Hi Prabhjot and Vijay,

It’s great to hear that you both are interested in pursuing a Masters in Canada!

I think the best fit would be the University of Waterloo, which offers a Master of Applied Science/Master of Engineering program for classes starting January 1, 2009. Waterloo holds an established and credible reputation for its Engineering program, and is viewed as one of the best schools in North America for this field of study.

Graduate open class enrollment begins in late November, but keep in mind application deadlines vary; especially for international students. At Waterloo, graduate applicants who are outside of Canada, must complete their application packages and have sent to the Graduate Studies Office approximately eight to ten months prior to program entry.

Now is the time to start preparing for your graduate application package. I’d suggest visiting the web site, and see if the University of Waterloo is a school that you’d like to complete your Master’s at. Look over the admission details, and verify if you meet the school’s requirements. Along with that, you should also become familiar with the school/town.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Good luck!

    Hi Prabhjot,

I see that you’re also interested in studying at a Canadian college. From what I gather, Winter 2009 registration also begins in late November. Humber College, for instance opens enrollment on November 24. Which school(s) have you looked at?

    Hi there Nileshb,

    I’m glad to hear that you’re pursuing a Master’s!

In terms of universities for a MS in Networking, you may be interested in the following schools:

    1. The University of Toronto – Master of Engineering in Telecommunications

    2. The University of Calgary – Master of Networking

    3. Concordia University – Master of Applied Computer Science

    4. The University of Waterloo – Electrical and Computer Engineering

I encourage you to research these schools to see if they’re a good match for you. As an aside, applications for admission for Fall 2009 are due in February. This gives you a lot of time to look into other potential schools and make a sound decision.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Good luck!

What do you imply by MIS?

A masters program in a university in US/Canada should help you attain a job. Different universities have different strengths. I might be able to suggest universities if I knew what specialization you are looking at.

In the mean while, have a look at the Schools Directory. You can have a look at the different programs available across schools in US/Canada. We can then discuss the ones which are most useful for you.
