Hi Kicha,
I’m taking a guess here as to what you mean by visual effects. I think you either means the theatre industry of stage design, and the visual effects of such, or you mean something along a fine arts sort of stream, as in visual arts.
With those assumptions laid out, I would bring up the following two schools and accompanying programs.
1. Theatre Studies, with a focus in Design and Production at Acadia University.
Their design and productions program helps you see the inter-workings of the theatre, production of a show and design of all aspects. The visual effects included in this program would span from make-up, to set design, even lighting and production aspects.
2. Fine Arts, with a focus on Digital Arts and Design at Thompson Rivers University.
This program uses state-of-the-art technology, as well as multimedia applications to cover graphics, design, presentations as well as your own creative ability. The visual effects of this program would be the invested interest in visual arts and the concept of art as integrated media.
