Famous Engineering Grads
Engineering isn’t just for the engineers!
You may be surprised to learn that these famous people hold a degree in engineering:
Alfred Hitchcock, one of the world’s most famous filmmakers and producers who specialized in such thrillers as Psycho and Rear Window. Hitchcock studied mechanical and electrical engineering at the London County Council School of Engineering.

Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States, who fought to relieve the Great Depression of the 1920s. He was a mining engineer.
Gary Filmon, former Premier of Manitoba, whose government was the first to achieve a balanced provincial budget in 20 years. Gary graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Manitoba.
Tom Landry, who was coach of the Dallas Cowboys football team, renowned as one of the greatest and most innovative coaches in NFL history. The Cowboys had an amazing streak of 20 consecutive winning seasons while he coached them. Landry was an industrial engineer.

Rowan Atkinson, also known as Mr. Bean, one of the funniest British comedians alive. He is well-known for using a Charlie Chaplin-like visual style comedy as oppose of a dialogue. Mr. Atkinson studied electrical engineering at Newcastle University.
Fyodor Dostoevsky, the famous Russian writer whose works include Crime and Punishment had some engineering training.
Montel William, an American celebrity and talk-show host, was the first African American to attend the prestigious Naval Academy Preparatory School. He holds a degree in naval engineering.
Boris Yeltsin, former President of Russia, was a civil engineer.
Philip “Unabomber” Laak, a professional poker player who won the World Poker Tour in 2004 and he’s also an actor. The Unabomber is a mechanical engineer.
And of course, every famous engineer you can think of is an engineering grad.
So you see?
