    Hi Jaganath,

Browse thru' LearnHub's directory of colleges - you can search for colleges in Canada for your required discipline.

As for your other questions, please have a look at the following lessons on LearnHub: living on a student budget, average Canadian tuition fees, tuition expenses in Canada, living expenses in Canada and jobs to help you pay for education

    I hope this helps!

I looked up some colleges in Canada. Why don't you check out the University of New Burnswick - they seem to have a good Mechanical Engineering program.

I'll keep looking for more and will update you. Hope it helps.

    Thanks

hi, Thanks for contacting us. There are some colleges & universities which don't require GRE so it depends on your department and the College you choose. As a counselor i would suggest you that you should write either TOEFL or IELTS because even if the University waves off your IELTS it is required for Visa Application, so its better if you start preparing for IELTS or TOEFL.

Once you decide on a school that fits, the application process will depend on the school, as they each have different requirements. The IETLS will likely be required, so it’s a good thing you’re about to take it soon. Other requirements may include things like recommendation letters, transcripts, and admission essays- it’ll be a good thing to start thinking about those.

    Good luck with everything.

    1. Concordia University
    2. Dalhousie University
    3. Mc Master University
    4. University of Victoria

    Hello,

Kindly elaborate your profile in terms of the preferred program, academic background, test takes of any so that the list of universities can be specified. Also, the ranking of the universities is best applicable as per the program. Most schools require qualifications comparable to a Canadian Bachelor’s (Honours) degree (Four Year Degree Program). That means a minimum of 16 years of formal education. However, in general please find below the application procedure in Canada :

Getting the application form (via email or from the official website).

Meeting with the eligibility requirements (GPA, GRE, TOELF/IETS)

Transcripts / Academic Records : You required to submit an official transcript (mark-sheets) from each college or university that they have attended after secondary school with complete details of the subjects/credits involved (for each year) and other details like correspondence courses, diplomas etc. Most universities ask for the transcript (mark-sheets) to be sealed in an envelope and signed and attested across the seal by the registrar.

Resume` : Though not mandatory a detailed Résumé is an important part of your application. It should include all information of professional work experience along with the details like positions held, achievements and range of work.

Letters of reference :Recommendation letters play a very important part in your admission especially in courses that earn you a master’s or doctoral degree. A recommendation letter is a signed statement from a person who knows you well professionally or has taught you in a subject that is related to the course you are applying to. It should list your positive and negative qualities, strengths and other such information.

The personal essays, and/or statement of purpose, play a very important role in the process of evaluating your application for both admission as well as financial aid because it gives the faculty assessing your application their most significant impression of you as an individual. A personal statement should include your reasons for choosing a particular course, the suitability of your education and experience for the chosen course, your personal interests and career goals.

Please note the tuition and associated fees can go incur expenses between $15,000 to $25,000 annually and the living expense is approximately $1,000 monthly.

I hope the above stated satisfies all your queries.

    Good luck!

    Hello,

Though you have specified with the GRE scores, it would have been better to specify the individual scores (verbal, quantitative). Also, your TOEFL scores are to the lower side and I would recommend you retake the test with better preparation since most of the universities look for a minimum score of 80+ on the iBT. You may access the following link for the same :

    TOEFL 2010

    Academic background :
Suffice with all the academic records (transcripts), diploma certificates etc that talk of your academic background.

    Resume`:

    Hello,

Please note though important aspect of the application, the grades at the Bachelors level is not the sole criteria while evaluating an application/profile. Your scores on the IELTS, reference letters and the statement of purpose are equally considered by the admissions committee. Additionally related projects, paper work, some kind of work experience add considerable value to the profile.

Kindly elaborate your profile in terms academic background and the intended program so that specific guidelines can be provided. Generally, most of the Canadian universities consider a minimum overall score of at least 6.0 on the IELTS. For more guidelines on the IELTS, please access the following link :

    Take care!
