    Hello,
Please find below the suggestions with regard to your queries.

There is no official website that displays ranking of the of universities as per the Biomedical Engineering program. Some of the well known universities that offer the program are listed below :

    Dalhousie University
    University of British Columbia
    Carleton University
    McMaster University
    University of Alberta

The TOEFL requirement for international applicants vary from university to university. However, for the desired program, a minimum of 100 on the iBT should be on the safe side.

The other requirements in general would include the following :

GRE though not suggested could be recommended by some universities.

    Getting the official transcripts ready.

Reference letters from the professors, employers are sought as per the universities requirement.

Statement of purpose that enhances your individuality, the purpose of choosing the particular location, university is a part of the application.

If you have any relevant work experience it is advised you submit your Resume` along with the other application material. The similar is the case with research work. Do include them since they will add value to your profile.

If you would be completing your Bachelors by May 2011, the suggested intake would be of Fall 2011 with an intake in August-September and hence your should immediately begin with the preparation and application procedure.

With regards to the financial aid, please note financial assistance coming from the university is very limited and it is advised to plan your finances while considering and finalizing the universities. You may also consider joining the scholarship community of learnhub, if you meet with their eligibility criteria. You may access the following link for information on the same :

    Take care!

    Hello,

Generally the eligibility requirement for a Masters in Biomedical Engineering is a Bachelors in the same or a science stream (medical). Also, many universities accept any Bachelors (4 years) for this program. Since you have medical background with an internship, a PhD can also be considered.

Considering our profile and your interest, I would recommend that you opt for a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering with a track in instrumentation. Kindly go through the following universities that might suit your profile and interest.

    Johns Hopkins University
Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Institute for Computational Medicine (MS in Computational Medicine - Computational Anatomy and Biomedical Imaging)

    University of Pennsylvania
School of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Bioengineering (Ph.D. in Bioengineering - Medical Imaging and Imaging Instrumentation)

    Stony Brook University
College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics and Astronomy (Master of Science in Instrumentation)

    Southern Illinois University
College of Engineering (M.S. in Biomedical Engineering - Biomedical Instrumentation)

    University Of California, Los Angeles
Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Bioengineering (M.S. in Biomedical Engineering - Biomedical Instrumentation)

Do consider the above specified aspects and get back with your decision so that we may guide you further.

    Take care!

    Hello,

thanks for considering Learnhub for your queries on higher education abroad!

Biomedical engineering has gained good importance in recent times. It has emerged as a new discipline all together. This is evident from the fact that many Universities in US have now a separate department of Biomedical Engineering.

Earlier the program in Biomedical engineering was offered through Electrical Engineering department.

Biomedical engineering discipline is a little competitive for admissions. Reason being small class sizes compared to other engineering disciplines.

Considering your GRE scores and academics, we can suggest you following Universities for better admission chances:

    1. University of South Carolina
    MS Biomedical Engineering

    2. Wright State University
    MS Biomedical Engineering

    3. Bridgeport University
    MS Biomedical Engineering

You can check the following links as well to know more about the program:

    University of South Carolina

    Wright State University

    Bridgeport University

To add to your knowledge we collaborate with the above mentioned Universities. Thus we can help you process your applications for them. In case you are interested to know more about your admission chances and to begin with the application process, you can leave your details in the below mentioned link:
